Core Skills: Object (Silhouettes)

These are some of the silhouettes that I found most interesting and the artists who work with silhouettes are:

Kara Walker:
Her work reflects old-fashioned and vintage form of silhouette that are in black and white. She uses contrast in black and white as well as size from small to large. I think the idea she was aiming for was to bring untold stories from the past just to see how different it was back in the past then from today, it may also refer to old graphic posters where there is a woman in almost every image for example the Coca Cola poster.

Alison Russell:

These two images are beautiful, they were specially made for a couple wedding as the top shows the bride and her bouquet of flowers and the last images which shows the Ring boy and Flower girl. This artist shows similarities to Kara Walker but with the idea of creating art of powerful and memorable events. 

There were some plain images that I thought may be useful for my silhouette object such as jewellery and silhouettes you would see in a everyday routine and maybe just some random images
