Core Skills: Moving Image (Hitchcock short film

This here is a video of Pati, who is showing his reaction to Rihanna. I found it humorous after i watched it all together. I have done my own editing for this video on the Adobe Premiere programme.

Core Skills: Moving Image (Walking Sequence)

This here is a class task that my group and i put together. But i did my own type of editing using skills from Adobe Premiere. Our video.

Core Skills: Moving Image (Racking)

Racking Shot is when the focus in a shot focuses on one object then changes and focuses on another.
This video from youtube is a tutorial about pulling focus and rack focusing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5KXQw48SNk

These are a few images
Non-focus in the foreground of the sunflower. While the Middle ground and background are in focus.

Then it changes from the top image. where the sunflower in the foreground is in focus and the middle ground and background are not in focus.

Core Skills: Moving Image (Zoom Shot/Canted)

In this video, i found a lot of dutch tilting also known as Canted from the film Limitless directed by Neil Burger. The zooming is great and feels like its an upstanding view. The term Zoom Shot is a shot that zooms in to an object or zooming out. Dutch tilting is when theres zooming but tilting during the movement.

These are a few images that relate to a zoom shot, dutch tilt and a images that has both together in one.

Core Skills: Moving Image (Deep Focus)

The term Deep Focus comes from Deep depth of field, otherwise known as the in an image is all in focus, the foreground, the middle-ground and the background. For research I found a video thats part of a film made by Orson Welles, called Citizen Kane (1941)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ksn_s-Aa_pQ

There were a few images that involve deep focus:

this shows a deep depth of field.
this image was from the Akeelah and the bee movie directed by Doug Atchison.

Core Skills: Moving Image (Shallow Focus)

The term Shallow Focus is when an object in the image is in focus while everything else in the image is not in focus. As part of research this website that i searched up had a variety of examples of shallow focus or shallow depth of field.
This is one of the examples shown on the website.

A Buddhist statue in Koya-san, Japan, with an 180mm lens at ƒ2.8, shooting through a flame.

Core Skills: Lens Based (Surface research)

Considering, that I have chosen an idea of Typography for my self portraiture project. I thought that maybe this video could start me off with any example of what I'm aiming for. Text reveals a lot of meaning, or at least what ever you want to say but in the need for expressing mentality or emotional and physical expressions people write lyrics, poems and short stories about anything and everything. Basically on life.

This video gave me an idea of using text in motion. The artist in this video, his name is Mike Giant who is a Graffiti, Tattooist and Illustrator.

Core Skills: Movement (24 shoot chase sequence)

Our task for wednesday 7th may, we had to use the camera angles that were shown during class to create a chase sequence story board:

with Emma, Elisapeta, Amanda and Kristian

Core Skills: Object (Silhouettes)

These are some of the silhouettes that I found most interesting and the artists who work with silhouettes are:

Kara Walker:
Her work reflects old-fashioned and vintage form of silhouette that are in black and white. She uses contrast in black and white as well as size from small to large. I think the idea she was aiming for was to bring untold stories from the past just to see how different it was back in the past then from today, it may also refer to old graphic posters where there is a woman in almost every image for example the Coca Cola poster.

Alison Russell:
These two images are beautiful, they were specially made for a couple wedding as the top shows the bride and her bouquet of flowers and the last images which shows the Ring boy and Flower girl. This artist shows similarities to Kara Walker but with the idea of creating art of powerful and memorable events.

There were some plain images that I thought may be useful for my silhouette object such as jewellery and silhouettes you would see in a everyday routine and maybe just some random images
